Hiring: Digital Designer | Goram & Vincent

Hiring: Digital Designer

Requirements

This position is for part-time maternity cover (a minimum 22.5h a week would be helpful) in the first instance with an option for a full-time position if stars align. We are open to full or part-time candidates with an emphasis on a good personality fit for G&V. We work a flexible week (working 9-day fortnight if full-time) and request Monday-Wednesday (at least) in our Whiteladies Rd. office. We have a close-knit team and thrive off in-person interaction so a fully remote role wouldn’t be right for us.

Overarching Responsibility

The Digital Designer Role is an exciting new opportunity to be part of our growing eCommerce Growth team within G&V.

You’ll be working alongside our Senior Designer/Creative Director assisting with a wide variety of digital design tasks such as brand identity, photography/filming, image/photo resizing/manipulation, compositions, website and social media content (still & motion graphics).

We’re looking for someone who has a great eye for good-looking design, on-point sensitivity for brand awareness and an interest in seeing brand assets delivered across multiple digital platforms. You will primarily be working with our eCommerce Client Partners, most of which are in the fashion, beauty, cosmetics and food & drink industries.

You will also be working on our agency’s digital and social presence, and help us keep up to date with the latest trends in digital design tools.

We’re ideally looking for a bit of a design all-rounder – a self-starter – though will provide training and support in digital design and artwork that you may need to upskill on. The most important thing is your ability to demonstrate a willingness to learn and be part of a passionate, skilled and fun team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Senior Designer, and wider agency team, in all creative and digital design scoping/projects/tasks
  • Originate works, make amendments
  • Prepare files for print (where required) and digital production
  • Manage and maintain design files/assets both locally and on on-premise/cloud servers (backups)
  • Track design tasks, progress and time against projects via our project management tools and workflows
  • Assist with creative briefs and work with the project delivery teams to ensure work is delivered on time and to required specifications
  • Liaise with 3rd party Suppliers and Partners where necessary
  • Assisting with research for new business opportunities
  • Assist with ongoing G&V advertising, marketing and social media

Key Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience working in print and digital design – either agency, client-side or personal projects – desired but not essential
  • An understanding of Paid Media channels, audiences and targeting
  • Experience in or working knowledge of some of the following tools: Adobe Creative Suite; Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects and Premiere.
  • Team working and collaboration
  • Google Workplace / Microsoft Office skills; spreadsheet experience/knowledge is a bonus
  • Great written and verbal communication with the ability to present to internal teams and Client Partners
  • Results and performance-focused

Personal Attributes

  • Enthusiastic, curious, proactive and self-motivated with a hunger and willingness to learn and not afraid to ask questions
  • A self-starting, humble and ambitious nature
  • A real interest and passion for all things brand, eCommerce and digital marketing
  • Ability to manage workload with several clients and projects on the go at once and can update and document tasks face to face and project management software
  • Commercial acumen and a talent for developing relationships and networking

In Return

You will be joining one of Bristol’s hungriest, most capable and ambitious agency teams where you’ll be playing a pivotal role in a growing part of the agency and servicing some equally ambitious and inspiring brands. We offer a relaxed, inclusive, nurturing work environment and progressive culture in our fantastic Whiteladies Rd offices.

We Also Offer

  • 20 days holiday + an extended Christmas break
  • Your birthday off (if you want)
  • A nine-day fortnight (you get every other Friday off!)
  • Private Healthcare
  • Pension Scheme with employer contributions
  • Great coffee (our own brand!)
  • Monthly food vouchers
  • Investment in tools – we don’t scrimp on technology, be it hardware, software or external services
